Armenia confirmed rapprochement with the European Union
Armenia will continue to increase cooperation and rapprochement with the European Union. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this during government hour in parliament.
According to him, these relations will go beyond SEPA - an agreement on expanded and comprehensive cooperation. There is political will to deepen relations between the parties, including in the field of aviation and economic diversification.
Recently, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, answering the question of the host of the Democracy Summit event in Denmark, “In what year would you like Armenia to become a member of the EU?”, cheerfully said: “This year.” He also noted that his country has no other choice but to move towards Europe. He also repeatedly criticized the military-political bloc CSTO, which is under Russian influence, and announced the suspension of Armenia’s participation in it.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan also spoke on the issue of European integration of Armenia: “Armenia obtaining the status of a candidate for EU membership is the most correct and desirable option. In fact, Armenia always followed this path until it was pulled into another system.”
