The European Council and Georgia exchanged views on the recent elections

The parliamentary elections have taken place, and there are serious suspicions of fraud, which requires a serious investigation. This was stated by the President of the European Council Charles Michel at the summit in Budapest. According to him, the EU leaders will discuss the current situation in Georgia and send a clear signal to the country's leadership.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, in a conversation with journalists in Budapest, compared the elections in Georgia with the presidential elections in Moldova and the United States, noting that "the Georgian elections were of much higher quality." Kobakhidze told the President of the European Council that the opposition is having difficulty mobilizing supporters to hold protests.

"I told Charles Michel about the situation in Georgia, including that the opposition does not have the support of the people. I think that in such conditions, events will develop much more easily than four years ago, because the opposition does not have the resources. I also repeated to him that we are ready for any discussions – this is our open position,” Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized.

On November 9, the pro-European opposition will hold a protest in Tbilisi. Similar events will take place on November 10.
