More participants in the anti-Semitic pogrom at the Dagestan airport were given long terms

A court in Stavropol sentenced seven more participants in the pogrom at the Makhachkala airport to imprisonment for terms ranging from 5 years to 6 years and 8 months. Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Umar Dzhanboruev, Alimpasha Daitbekov, Gadzhi Akhmedulaev, Magomedamin Tagirov, Alila Ismailov and Ramazan Isaev were found guilty of participating in mass riots and failure to comply with transport security requirements.

According to investigators, in 2023, the defendants participated in a pogrom in Makhachkala. We are talking about an anti-Semitic action at the Uytash airport, which took place after the arrival of a plane from Israel. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reported that 1,500 people took part in it, and criminal cases were opened against 142. More than 90 people received real terms in the "airport case".

Earlier, human rights activists pointed out the bias of the trial: among the accused could be those who did not participate in the storming of the airport. Relatives of many of the defendants said that they considered the sentences too harsh and unfair. 11 prosecution witnesses were unable to identify the defendants.

Recall that on October 29, 2023, hundreds of people broke into the Makhachkala airport, trying to find passengers on a transit flight from Tel Aviv. Those gathered spoke out against Israel's actions in Palestine.
