One of Azerbaijan's opposition leaders accused the authorities of releasing a Kremlin journalist

Ali Karimli, leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, criticized the government's actions. He expressed concern over the release from pretrial detention of Igor Kartavykh, the former executive director of the Russian-Kremlin media outlet Sputnik Azerbaijan, and the deteriorating health of opposition figure Tofig Yagublu.

Karimli accused the authorities of deliberately denying Yagublu the necessary medical care, which, he believes, puts his life at risk. He contrasted the release of Kartavykh, who had previously been linked to the Russian FSB, with Yagublu's continued imprisonment, emphasizing the political nature of these decisions.

Karimli called on citizens not to remain indifferent and to speak out in defense of political prisoners.

"Our people must not tolerate lies, hypocrisy, and cruelty. They must not allow Tofig Yagublu, a true hero of the struggle for Karabakh and democracy, to face fatal consequences in prison." “Everyone must raise their voice,” Kerimli urged.
