Pashinyan considers it necessary to change the Constitution of Armenia

Armenia needs a new Constitution. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in his address to the people on the occasion of Constitution Day.

According to Pashinyan, “the people will consider the new Constitution to be created and adopted by them... Now the citizen believes that this text was created by the ruling elite.” He added that the current Constitution causes “serious social and psychological tension among citizens.”

On January 20, Pashinyan said that Armenia needs a new Constitution. On March 11, the Ministry of Justice of Armenia reported that the draft concept of constitutional reforms was ready.

The head of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Arman Dilanyan also expressed his opinion.

“The Constitution of Armenia does not contain direct answers to all the questions that concern us, solutions to all problems, but it contains formulas for solutions and creates equal opportunities for everyone to form their own image of a free citizen,” Dilanyan’s message says.
