Putin Expresses Condolences Over Murder of Tajik Boy

At a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon, the Russian President expressed deep condolences over the tragic death of a Tajik boy at a school in Odintsovo.

The Russian President emphasized that crimes against children are particularly abhorrent. He assured that the investigation into this case will be fully conducted and that all those involved will be brought to justice. Putin stated that he was shocked by the incident and asked that his sincere condolences be conveyed to the family of the deceased child.

On December 16, a teenager armed with a knife committed a terrorist attack at a school in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. As a result of the brutal attack, 10-year-old Tajik boy Kobiljon Aliyev died at the scene, and a security guard was taken to the hospital with injuries. Before the attack, the killer reportedly asked the boy, "What nationality are you?"

The Explainer Project suggests that the arrest of investigative journalist Oleg Roldugin of Novaya Gazeta may be linked to his investigation of assets acquired by individuals close to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov following the "nationalization" of the Russian divisions of the major French dairy producer Danone. The publication's source claims that investigators are attempting to formulate charges against the journalist without disclosing the names of individuals associated with Kadyrov, which explains the lack of official information about any charges against Roldugin.
