Ingushetia announces two days off in honor of Eid al-Fitr

In Ingushetia, March 31 and April 1 will be days off in connection with the celebration of the holiday of Eid al-Fitr. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov.

“The Government of Ingushetia was instructed to provide the population with an uninterrupted supply of electricity, gas, water, as well as communications, paying special attention to healthcare and social facilities,” the statement said.

Earlier, days off were also announced in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Dagestan, Chechnya and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

This year, the Muslim holiday of breaking the fast, Eid al-Fitr, falls on March 30. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which believers fasted, abstaining from food, drink and worldly pleasures from sunrise to sunset. Followers of Islam celebrate the holiday for three days.
