Chechnya's leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, called for military action to expand to NATO countries providing military aid to Ukraine. He stated on his Telegram channel that Russia should "open fire" on countries supplying Kyiv with weapons, intelligence, and other support.
Residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia have simplified the process of obtaining Russian citizenship
The Russian government has relaxed the conditions for obtaining Russian citizenship for the population of the "self-proclaimed republics" of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Previously, citizens of these regions were required to permanently reside in the territory of the Russian Federation for five years, speak Russian, and know the history and basics of Russian legislation. Now these conditions are being cancelled. To obtain a Russian passport, they must submit an application to a Russian diplomatic mission, and if they live in Russia, to a territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Today, about 90% of residents of South Ossetia have Russian citizenship. In Abkhazia, this figure is about 70%.
