Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." This was reported by the human rights project "Slovo Zashchite" (Word for the Defense).
On December 21, 40 Palestinian refugees arrived in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, 26 of them were children. The guests were accommodated at a recreation center in the resort town of Teberda, the head of the republic, Rashid Temrezov, said in his Telegram channel.
The Palestinians were provided with three hot meals a day, a prayer room for adults and a playroom for children were prepared. Living areas with all necessary equipment have been organized. It is noted that doctors and psychologists will monitor the health of arrivals, and there is a pharmacy.
“We tried to make our guests feel comfortable, feel warm and hospitable, so that people could overcome the stress and fear experienced during the hostilities that they witnessed,” Temrezov shared.
