During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
We don’t need Chechens who surrendered to Ukrainian captivity. Surrendering is a disgrace for a Chechen, which can only be washed away with blood. This was reported by the deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, commander of the volunteer formation “Akhmat” Apti Alaudinov.
“Why do you think that someone should rescue you from captivity?” Alaudinov said. “I can rescue anyone from captivity, but not Chechens who voluntarily surrendered. They don’t exist for me. Keep them for yourself, and I don’t care what you do with them. I don’t consider myself responsible for them, because they have strayed from the sacred path.”
Alaudinov advised the Chechens to commit suicide: "Take a pen, a nail, attack someone and do everything to get killed. To end your life as men."
