A Dagestani official whose son participated in recent terrorist attacks has been arrested

The ex-head of the Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan, Magomed Omarov, whose son participated in terrorist attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala, was arrested for two months - until September 5. He has been charged with fraud and money laundering.

Omarov is accused of misappropriating municipal land with an area of ​​264 square meters and he and others. m with a non-residential building in the village of Sergokala, the cost of which exceeds 2.4 million rubles. In 2021, Magomed Omarov, the general director of a construction company and other persons turned this site into the property of the specified company.

In addition, Magomed Omarov and other persons fictitiously employed two villagers in the editorial office of a local newspaper. Thus, from July 2016 to August 2022, accomplices received salaries for non-existent drivers. They managed to steal more than 695 thousand rubles.

Let us remind you that on the evening of June 23, militants attacked Orthodox churches and synagogues in Derbent and Makhachkala. 18 police officers, five civilians and five attackers were killed. One of the attackers is Omarov’s son.
