The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on plans by US President Donald Trump's family, along with local partners, to build a 70-story Trump Tower in Tbilisi. According to the publication, the building is slated to be the tallest in the Georgian capital.
This news comes amid the ruling Georgian Dream party's desire to restore relations with the United States and establish a partnership with the Trump administration.
Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan emphasized that the country does not plan to take action against Iran, calling it a friendly partner.
Speaking about Tehran's concerns regarding the TRIPP project and the US role in controlling the road along the Iranian border, Simonyan confirmed that the Armenian government believes TRIPP will benefit all countries in the region. He expressed hope that with the stabilization of the situation in Iran, his concerns will be allayed.
Earlier, Iranian Ambassador Khalil Shirgolami commented on the recent protests outside his embassy in Yerevan, recalling Iran's support for Armenia during difficult times. He also reiterated Tehran's concerns regarding the TRIPP project, suggesting that the US could use it against Iran. These concerns were conveyed to the Armenian side, and the parties agreed to regularly discuss the "Trump route."
