Speaking in the European Parliament, Nikol Pashinyan identified the lack of active dialogue between the EU and Georgia as the main obstacle to Armenia's European integration. According to the Prime Minister, Georgia is a strategic 'bridge', and its candidate status has prompted Yerevan to begin the EU accession process.
Armenia recognized the independence of Palestine
Armenia recognized the Palestinian state. This is stated in the official statement of the country's Foreign Ministry.
“Confirming its commitment to the principles of equality, sovereignty and peaceful coexistence of peoples, the Republic of Armenia recognizes the State of Palestine,” the ministry said. Yerevan also noted the difficult humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
On May 22, Norway, Ireland and Spain announced recognition of a Palestinian state. On June 5, Slovenia made a similar decision.
