Lawyers for Chechen native Mansur Movlaev have appealed the Kazakh prosecutor's office's decision to extradite him to Russia, filing appeals with the agency and the presidential administration. Solo pickets are also planned.
Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, expressed doubts about the advisability of Russia's participation in the TRIPP project, which is a joint initiative between Armenia and the United States. He noted that the possibility of opening new routes with Russia's participation should be considered separately from TRIPP.
"TRIPP is a project between Armenia and the United States. If we are talking about opening a route or road, then, in my opinion, it should be a separate initiative, but within the framework of TRIPP, this seems somewhat absurd to me," Simonyan noted.
Recently, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Ruben Rubinyan, stated that Russia's participation in TRIPP is not under discussion. Previously, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the key role of the "Trump Route" (TRIPP) in providing transport links between Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia. To implement the project, TRIPP Company, a joint Armenian-American venture, will be registered. It will receive rights to develop rail and road infrastructure, as well as to construct oil and gas pipelines and lay fiber-optic cables.
Despite TRIPP being a joint initiative of Armenia and the United States, the Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed interest in joining the project. Russia is ready to provide expertise from Russian Railways to assist in its implementation, as stated by a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
