The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on plans by US President Donald Trump's family, along with local partners, to build a 70-story Trump Tower in Tbilisi. According to the publication, the building is slated to be the tallest in the Georgian capital.
This news comes amid the ruling Georgian Dream party's desire to restore relations with the United States and establish a partnership with the Trump administration.
In the event of armed aggression, Azerbaijan and Turkey will provide mutual military assistance. A corresponding memorandum on mutual strengthening of military security is currently being considered by the Azerbaijani parliament.
Local media report that the document provides not only for joint exercises and development of the defense industry, but also for a specific mechanism for mutual support in the event of an attack, based on Article 51 of the UN Charter. Arzu Nagiyev, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee, stated that the memorandum is an important step in strengthening the strategic partnership.
The memorandum, focused on the military sphere, regulates cooperation and security between the parties, with a particular emphasis on mutual assistance in the defense sector. This includes joint training programs, logistical support, and efforts to enhance interoperability. Furthermore, it provides for the active exchange of information, including confidential military intelligence data, for use in joint operations.
As a reminder, Türkiye actively supported Azerbaijan in the 44-day war in 2020 against Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh.
