The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
The Azerbaijan-Turkey Think Tank Forum has opened in Shusha. Heads and researchers from leading analytical institutions from both countries are participating in the event. Key discussion topics include regional security, foreign policy, economic integration, and cooperation in transport, communications, and energy.
Mehmet Seyfeddin Erol, Director of ANKASAM, speaking at the Forum, emphasized that the integration of the Turkic world and Central Asia is impossible without the participation of Azerbaijan and Turkey. He noted that after the Second Karabakh War, the positions of Baku and Ankara have significantly strengthened, and their leading role and deterrent military potential have become key for the Turkic world, while Central Asian countries have gained greater freedom in their relations with Russia and China.
