Baku is providing humanitarian support to Iran and evacuating foreign citizens from the country amid the escalating situation in the region. On the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) vehicles sent 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, over 4 tons of water, approximately 600 kg of tea, and approximately 2 tons of medicine to Iran.
From February 28 to March 9, 2,057 people were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan, including citizens of Azerbaijan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Italy, Spain, Japan, and many other countries.
As a reminder, on February 28, Israel and the United States, according to Donald Trump, launched a large-scale military operation against Iran. In response, Iran began shelling Israeli and American facilities, as well as civilian targets in the Middle East.
