Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream party has appealed to the Constitutional Court to ban the activities of approximately ten opposition political groups.

Azerbaijani journalist Polad Aslanov, who was sentenced to 13 years, was placed in solitary confinement in a prison colony.
“They explained this by saying that Polad was on a hunger strike and needed to be isolated. And since there were allegedly no free places in the prison’s medical unit, they put him in solitary confinement. Of course, this is a ploy to punish him,” the political prisoner’s wife shared.
According to her, Polad has been on hunger strike for three days. When he started the action, he weighed 49 kg. He decided to go on hunger strike, demanding freedom for himself and other political prisoners on the eve of the climate summit in Baku.
“The world community should not remain indifferent to unfair arrests,” Aslanov’s wife said.
Earlier, Polad Aslanov complained of inhuman treatment. He was kept hungry for several hours, prevented from contacting a lawyer, threatened to pressure his family, and then forced to confess.
The founder and head of the xeberman.com website, Polad Aslanov, was arrested in June 2019 on charges of treason and sentenced to 16 years in prison. Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner. Later, the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan reduced his prison term to 13 years.
