Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the opening of the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway route, which runs through Turkey and Georgia, for Armenian exports and imports. He stated that this route will open Armenia's access to the European Union.
A major fire broke out in a multi-story building on Umar Sadaev Street in Grozny. Several people were injured, and over 300 residents were forced to evacuate their apartments.
Firefighters, rescuers, medical personnel, and police officers quickly arrived at the scene. Alikhan Tsakayev, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Chechen Republic, supervised the firefighting effort.
Grozny Mayor Khas-Magomed Kadyrov announced on his Telegram channel that the fire had been completely extinguished. He noted that thanks to the prompt actions of emergency services, all residents were successfully evacuated. Several people who suffered carbon monoxide poisoning were hospitalized and received the necessary medical care. According to the mayor, the victims' lives are out of danger.
Kadyrov also added that while repairs are being carried out in the damaged building, residents will be temporarily housed in rented apartments. Funding for this will be allocated from the Akhmad Kadyrov Public Foundation.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations press service clarified that the fire covered an area of 2,850 square meters. According to preliminary reports, careless handling of fire was the cause.
