The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Ingush natives Ramazan Padiyev and Batukhan Tochiyev to 18 and 22 years in a maximum-security penal colony. According to Kommersant, they were found guilty of complicity in the terrorist attack that resulted in the deaths of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of Russia's Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense (RCBD) forces, and his adjutant, Ilya Polikarpov.
Central Election Commission: the highest turnout for elections in the North Caucasus Federal District was recorded in Chechnya
On the third day of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, one of the maximum voter turnout rates was recorded in Chechnya - more than 93%. The state channel ChGTRK “Grozny” reported that no violations were identified during the voting process.
The leaders in turnout in the North Caucasus also included North Ossetia (84.7%) and Kabardino-Balkaria (79.7%). Next in descending order are Ingushetia (76.8%), Dagestan (75.8%), Karachay-Cherkessia (74.1%) and Stavropol region (69.7%).
In general, the turnout in the presidential elections in the Russian Federation by 15:30 Moscow time was 70%.
