Chechnya has set an all-Russian record for reducing the number of marriages

Over the four months of 2023, the number of newlyweds in Chechnya has almost halved (from 1,587 to 892), which is the largest drop in Russia as a whole. In addition, divorces in the republic became 40% more frequent (the indicator changed from 2203 to 2926).

In terms of the increase in the number of divorces, the North Caucasus by a large margin bypassed all federal districts - a positive trend amounted to 39%. The second and third places in terms of reducing the number of marriages after Chechnya in the North Caucasus Federal District are occupied by Dagestan and Ingushetia - minus 25% and 22%, respectively.
