A new group of Rosatom employees working at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has been evacuated from Iran to Russia via Armenia. According to the Russian Embassy in Yerevan, 164 people, who had previously crossed the border through the Nurduz/Agarak checkpoint, departed on a special flight to Moscow on March 27.
Heavy rains have fallen across the Chechen Republic, with water levels exceeding normal levels reported in several districts. In some villages, the severe weather has already caused localized damage to infrastructure.
Chechenenergo is restoring power supplies disrupted by heavy rainfall and strong winds. In the Shatoi District, according to local authorities, despite heavy rainfall, no damage to water, electricity, or gas systems has been reported, although localized damage to roads has been observed. The situation is more dire in the Nozhai-Yurt District: in the village of Benoy-Vedeno, the roadway along Vostochnaya and Severo-Zapadnaya Streets has been completely destroyed, blocking access to and from the village. Road damage has also been reported in the village of Balansu.
Furthermore, foothill and mountainous areas are reportedly at risk. Installation work is underway at flooded supports and in the landslide-prone areas.
In particular, rockfalls are being observed along a section of federal highway R-217 in the Itum-Kalinsky district, the district administration reported. The rock slide occurred near the village of Guchum-Kali. Due to the ongoing threat, residents and tourists in the district are urged to exercise extreme caution when traveling and limit travel if possible. The situation is being monitored by relevant services.
