A Droa member commented on the cancellation of Georgia-EU human rights talks

Giga Lemonjava, a member of the Droa party, cited the fact that the Georgian delegation included a sanctioned deputy minister as the reason for the postponement of the Georgia-EU human rights dialogue:

"The regime's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is lying."

The Georgia-EU human rights dialogue failed for two reasons:

1. The regime's delegation included a sanctioned official, a deputy minister, whose travel to participate in the dialogue was impossible.

2. The delegation's size was artificially inflated. The delegation included political officials whose purpose was not to participate in the working process, but to reinforce the propaganda that the Ivanishvili regime was "improving relations" with the West.

"Naturally, no one would allow the regime to take advantage of such a fraudulent scheme," Giga Lemonjava concluded.

As a reminder, the annual human rights dialogue meeting between Georgia and the EU was scheduled for November 21, but was cancelled shortly before the date. In response, the Georgian Foreign Ministry issued a statement emphasizing that Tbilisi viewed the meeting "as an opportunity to engage with the EU," but "Brussels is not prepared to listen to the reasonable positions of the Georgian side."
