Ismail Hasanov was sentenced by a court in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja to 3.5 years in prison for participating in military operations in Ukraine as part of the Russian private military company Wagner. He was charged under Article 279.1 of the Criminal Code (regarding participation in the activities of armed groups outside the country), the publication Oxu reported.
The Gray Zone Telegram channel published a video of the extrajudicial execution of a former Russian prisoner, who allegedly went to war with Ukraine as part of the Wagner PMC, surrendered to the Ukrainian military, and was then kidnapped by former colleagues and executed with a sledgehammer blow to the head. Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova contacted the Investigative Committee with a request to verify the authenticity of the video.
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, reported an attempt to poison the commander of the Akhmat special forces unit, Apta Alaudinov. He allegedly received a letter saturated with a poisonous substance, after which he, along with two adjutants, was hospitalized in a Moscow clinic.
