Armenian law enforcement agencies have detained 14 activists of the Strong Armenia opposition party, led by Russian oligarch Samvel Karapetyan. The head of the party's office has been charged with violating the legal ban on charitable donations, according to party spokesperson Ghramanyan.
The Republic of Dagestan, experiencing one of the worst floods in the last century, is actively receiving aid from across Russia and beyond. Dozens of regions, organizations, and individuals have joined the humanitarian mission. The first to respond were regions neighboring Dagestan in the North Caucasus.
In particular, the Chechen Republic not only sent its rescuers and EMERCOM specialists to assist their colleagues but also delivered humanitarian aid to the Khasavyurt District. This initiative was supported by renowned Chechen mixed martial artist (MMA) Khamzat Chimaev, who sent seven trucks of aid.
Ingushetia mobilized significant resources, delivering 400 tons of drinking water, and regional rescuers are also working at the scene.
Large-scale aid is arriving from Kabardino-Balkaria (approximately 150 tons of cargo), Adygea (100 tons – water, juices, cereals), Abkhazia (80 tons of bottled water), and Stavropol Krai (primarily drinking water).
Active aid collections are being organized by the Muslim Spiritual Administration of Karachay-Cherkessia in conjunction with the Pyatigorsk and Cherkessk Diocese. Humanitarian aid collection points have been opened in Rostov-on-Don, Orenburg, Sochi, and Ryazan.
Aid is not limited to material goods. Senator Suleiman Kerimov and State Duma Deputy Khizri Abakarov have committed to housing restoration for families who have lost their homes.
The Russian Football Union (RFU), together with the Russian Premier League (RPL) and professional clubs, have decided to dedicate their upcoming matches to solidarity with Dagestan. Teams will wear special T-shirts, and commentators will report on the situation in the region.
Volunteers from the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps are helping residents of the Palmira neighborhood in Makhachkala cope with the aftermath of flooding. They are pumping water out of basements, removing silt, and delivering drinking water to local residents.
The Russian Cross Relief Foundation also delivered a large shipment of humanitarian aid to Dagestan. The event was organized with the support of the Russian Boxing Federation and the Russian Wrestling Federation. More than 40 tons of drinking water, over 1,000 pairs of rubber boots, and equipment for rescuers and volunteers were sent to the affected areas.
Finally, media personalities joined the flash mob to help Dagestanis: Basta, Goar Avetisyan, Anya Pokrov, Ida Galich, Victoria Bonya, Ksenia Borodina, Iosif Prigozhin, Jasmine, Eldar Dzharakhov, and others. San Francisco businessman and Dagestani native Magomed Kurbaytayev launched the Help Dagestan platform to assist flood victims.
