The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation (SAM RF) has banned Muslim couriers from transporting certain goods

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation (SAM RF) has ruled that Muslim couriers are prohibited from delivering certain goods that violate Islamic norms. These include alcohol, pork, meat that does not meet halal standards, as well as gambling and objects of pagan worship.

According to the SAM press service, this decision was made by the Council of Ulema after reviewing the permissibility of Muslims working in courier delivery. Exceptions are made when prohibited goods are transported for disposal or when the courier is unaware of the package's contents.

In situations where a shipment contains both permitted and prohibited goods, but the permitted goods predominate, delivery is permitted provided that the subsequent donation is charitable. It is emphasized that liability is incurred only in cases of knowingly transporting prohibited items.
