Yerevan announced its first arms export

Armenia has exported domestically produced weapons for the first time, according to High-Tech Industry Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

According to him, the exports involved several million dollars worth of weapons to two countries. The minister did not specify which countries received the weapons or what types of products were involved. Hayrapetyan noted only that the deal required solving "numerous logistical problems."

In recent years, Yerevan has been actively developing cooperation with Western partners in defense and technology. Specifically, Armenia and France previously signed agreements on cooperation in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor manufacturing. Paris also pledged to train Armenian troops and supply the country with six helicopters.

Against this backdrop, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced a demonstration of new weapons and equipment in Yerevan's Republic Square on May 28. "We have something to show – a new army, new weapons, and new military equipment," he stated.
