The evacuation of Rosatom employees from Iran via Armenia continues

A new group of Rosatom employees working at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has been evacuated from Iran to Russia via Armenia. According to the Russian Embassy in Yerevan, 164 people, who had previously crossed the border through the Nurduz/Agarak checkpoint, departed on a special flight to Moscow on March 27.

In addition to Russian specialists, citizens of Belarus, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were also evacuated.
According to the diplomatic mission, 327 Russian citizens have already returned to Russia via Armenia since the escalation of the situation around Iran.

The conflict escalated on February 28, when the US and Israel struck several targets in Iran. The attacks killed senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran struck US and Israeli targets in the region. According to the human rights organization HRANA, the death toll in Iran has reached 3,186. Meanwhile, the Iranian Ministry of Health reports more than 1,937 casualties. The number of wounded exceeds 24,800, including civilians, including children, and military personnel.
