The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the destruction of an oil refinery in Dagestan

On the night of October 22, Ukrainian defense forces struck several strategic targets in the Russian Federation, including the Makhachkala Oil Refinery. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a hit on one of the refinery's processing units.

According to the General Staff, the refinery's main purpose is to supply and store fuel for the Caspian Fleet naval base, as well as to refuel military vessels. Its annual refining capacity reaches 1 million tons.

Earlier, the mayor of Makhachkala and the head of Dagestan reported an attack on one of the refineries, without specifying its name.
