The head of Buinaksk, Islamudin Nurgudayev, resigned from his position of his own free will. Earlier, there was a massive outbreak of intestinal infection in the city.

According to one version, the official was summoned the day before by the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov. Nurgudayev has held his position since 2017.

An outbreak of intestinal infection in Buinaksk occurred due to a leak in the main water pipeline. More than 260 people went to the hospital. A criminal case has been initiated against the Buinakskvodokanal municipal unitary enterprise for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.

Subsequently, Rospotrebnadzor noted the stabilization of the epidemiological situation. 554 people were vaccinated, of which 358 children were vaccinated against hepatitis A. The department noted that water samples confirmed that it meets sanitary requirements.
