The head of Ingushetia and the country's authorities congratulated the republic on its accession to Russia

Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko congratulated Ingushetia on the 256th anniversary of its accession to Russia, noting the "dynamic development" and growth of production in the republic, which she called "one of the main strongholds of our state in the North Caucasus."

In her address, Matviyenko emphasized the centuries-old unity of the Ingush with other peoples of Russia, as well as the strengthening of the region's socioeconomic potential and its special attention to the environment, children, and youth.

The head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, also congratulated residents on this anniversary, stating that the Ingush "stood guard over the security and integrity of Russia" and emphasizing that Ingushetia is "an integral part of the multinational people of Russia."

It's worth noting that Matviyenko and Kalimatov failed to mention existing problems in the republic, such as poverty and corruption, in their statements. By many official indicators, Ingushetia is among the worst regions, particularly in terms of low incomes and high unemployment.
