Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced the prevention of a suspected terrorist attack in Pyatigorsk and the detention of a native of a Central Asian country. His name and citizenship have not been disclosed, and the circumstances described by the security agency cannot be independently verified.
Georgia and Armenia are among the top ten countries most frequently visited by Russians
Georgia and Armenia ranked seventh and ninth in terms of number of tourists from Russia in January-September 2025, with 1.2 million and 800,000, respectively.
Turkey topped the ranking with 5.3 million Russians. Abkhazia ranked second with 4.6 million. This republic is legally independent, but is effectively under Russian control.
Following are Kazakhstan, China, the UAE, and Egypt. Thailand and Uzbekistan also made the top ten for the number of Russian tourists.
