Ingushetia and Chechnya have become leaders in healthy lifestyles

In 2023, Ingushetia took first place among the regions of the Russian Federation in the ranking of healthy lifestyles of the population, scoring 693 points. Chechnya took second place (590 points). These are the results of the FinExpertiza study. North Ossetia took third place (560 points).

The top ten also included Chuvashia (548 points), Sevastopol (546 points), Kabardino-Balkaria (536 points), Novgorod region (517 points), Udmurtia (507 points), Krasnodar Territory and Crimea (483 points each).

Residents of the Jewish Autonomous Region lead the most unhealthy lifestyle (62 points). Also in the top three outsiders were the Sakhalin Region (112 points) and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (128 points).

According to the official methodology, people with a high commitment to a healthy lifestyle include citizens who simultaneously follow five rules:

– consume vegetables and fruits daily in quantities of at least 400 grams;
– be physically active – at least 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of intense physical activity per week;
– consume no more than 5 grams of salt per day;
– observe moderation in alcohol consumption: no more than 168 grams of pure alcohol per week for men (approximately equivalent to 0.4 liters of vodka or other alcohol with a strength of 40 degrees, two bottles of wine with a strength of 12 degrees or 3.5 liters of beer with a strength of 4.7 degrees) and no more than 84 grams for women (0.2 liters of strong alcohol, or one bottle of wine, or 1.8 liters of beer);
- no smoking.
