Islam Makhachev defended his UFC championship title

Russian MMA fighter from Dagestan Islam Makhachev defeated American Dustin Poirier in the USA and defended the UFC lightweight champion title.

Dustin Poirier was able to last five rounds in the title fight, and then Islam performed his guillotine choke. He won his 14th victory in a row. After the award ceremony, Makhachev spoke about his dream - he intends to become a welterweight champion.

Islam Makhachev won the UFC lightweight title in October 2022. After that, the Russian defended his belt twice. 32-year-old Makhachev has 26 wins and one loss in his MMA career.
