A well-known former lawyer from North Ossetia has had his arrest extended
The Moscow Garrison Military Court has extended the arrest of former lawyer Elman Pashayev from North Ossetia. He is accused of fraud on an especially large scale.

Pashayev was detained in September. The investigation believes that in February of this year, he met in Moscow with the husband of the arrested blogger, "queen of marathons" Elena Blinovskaya, Alexey. The lawyer convinced him that for a large reward he could release him and his wife from criminal liability for tax evasion. Pashayev received a large sum of money from Blinovsky, but apparently did not fulfill his obligations.

Recall that in 2020, Elman Pashayev defended Russian actor Mikhail Efremov, who, while drunk at the wheel, drove into the oncoming lane in the center of the capital and crashed into a van. The driver of the van died. Efremov claimed that Pashayev convinced him to bribe three witnesses. In court, they said that Efremov himself was not driving at the time of the accident, and that someone else was driving the car.

In September 2020, by decision of the Council of the Bar Association of North Ossetia, Pashayev was stripped of his status as a lawyer. However, he then passed the exam and received his license again. After that, the Council of the Federal Chamber of Advocates intervened in the situation and revoked Pashayev's status.
