Kirill Glazov, a former member of the People's Assembly of Dagestan who was stripped of his mandate on February 26, has been arrested on suspicion of large-scale fraud. According to law enforcement agencies, Glazov and his accomplices allegedly embezzled 137 million rubles in budget funds allocated for the purchase of rapid coronavirus testing kits in 2021.
Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, promoted his 20-year-old son, Akhmat Kadyrov, to acting deputy prime minister of the republic. He will continue to serve in this new position alongside his post as Minister of Physical Culture and Sport of Chechnya, a position he has held since May 2024.
Furthermore, Akhmed Dudayev was appointed acting deputy prime minister of Chechnya, which he will hold concurrently with his post as Minister of National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information.
"Akhmat Kadyrov and Akhmed Dudayev possess significant management experience, a deep understanding of the specific areas they oversee, and have proven themselves to be responsible and effective leaders. During their tenure, they have made a significant contribution to the development of the republic's socioeconomic sectors," the head of Chechnya commented on the appointments.
