Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers and the leadership to discuss the critical situation in the North Caucasus region. The republic has experienced floods unprecedented in decades, which have seriously disrupted the lives of residents.
President of the Chechen Academy of Sciences Dzhambulat Umarov presented the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, with the medal "For Contribution to the Development of Science." During the meeting, the regional leader heard a report on the results of research devoted to historical figures in Chechnya and the development of the Chechen language.
Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that, based on linguistic analysis, the Chechen language was declared the oldest in the Caucasus. The medal was presented to Kadyrov by decision of the Presidium of the Chechen Academy of Sciences. He expressed gratitude for the "valuable award."
Ramzan Kadyrov has been an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS) since 2006. He previously stated that he became an academician "for his success in restoring peace and stability."
In August 2025, journalists calculated that Kadyrov had received more than 30 awards since 2022, including the Order of Merit for Dentistry, the Medal of Excellence in Emergency Care, and the Medal of Merit for Improving the Safety of Nuclear Power Plants.
