Kadyrov called for killing relatives of those suspected of assassinating security forces

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, held a meeting with the leadership of security agencies and law enforcement agencies against the background of terrorist attacks in Dagestan. He called on the participants to strengthen efforts to ensure public safety and prevent terrorism and religious extremism.

According to him, “special emphasis must be placed on countering radical ideology emanating from European countries.”

“If a suspect is connected with shaitans, his entire family must be punished. And anyone who encroaches on a brother policeman must understand that out of blood feud we will kill everyone - father, brother, uncle. I appeal to the Chechen people - know what your children are doing. You all know the symptoms of Wahhabism, if you see them, immediately report them to the local police officer. It’s better that we stop him in time than later kill you, your son and your brother,” Kadyrov said.

After the events in Dagestan, Chechen security forces conducted raids in the republic. This was reported by opposition Chechen bloggers.

On the evening of June 23, militants attacked Orthodox churches and synagogues in Derbent and Makhachkala. 18 police officers, five civilians and five attackers were killed.
