Kadyrov called for blocking YouTube

YouTube should have been closed a long time ago, not slowed down, but blocked. This was stated by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.

He explained that the video hosting promotes "shaitans who mislead people, sow chaos" and does not allow Russian channels to develop, protecting the interests of the republic, the country, the individual and freedom of speech.

Kadyrov believes that other "American sites" should also be banned in Russia so that citizens use domestic Internet resources, and they need to be "made interesting".

The speed of loading YouTube videos on computers may decrease to 40%, and by the end of next week - to 70%, State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein warned the other day. According to him, the "degradation" of YouTube is a forced step directed against the administration of a foreign resource.

According to Gazeta.ru, the video service may be blocked in Russia as early as September. The publication cites a source close to the Presidential Administration and information from a company that collects information for law enforcement agencies.
