A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

The Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus asked the authorities to adopt legislative acts that will not allow regions and departments to ban "the wearing of mandatory religious clothing in the Russian Federation."
"This is not just religious clothing, this is not a religious attribute - this is the daily traditional clothing of a Muslim woman - a symbol of her honor and dignity. We also recall that the legislation of the Russian Federation does not restrict the wearing of the hijab, moreover, it allows photographing in a hijab to obtain a passport," the muftis recalled.
The Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus also stated that attempts to talk about national security in the context of educational organizations as arguments in favor of banning the hijab are untenable.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education of the Vladimir Region issued an order according to which wearing “clothing and its elements demonstrating the religious affiliation of a student (including hijabs, niqabs, etc.)” is not permitted in general education organizations.
