Crimean Tatar Political Prisoner Imprisoned in Shizo

The 10-year-old convicted Crimean Tatar Dilyaver Gafarov was placed in the punishment cell of Colony 1 in the Stavropol Territory. The reason for the detention of a political prisoner in the SHIZO is unknown to the family and the lawyer.

Dilyaver Gafarov observes Muslim fasting during the month of Ramadan. In the SHIZO, it is forbidden to eat and sleep outside the specified time.

In 2019, Gafarov was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was accused of participating in the Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Celebikihan, which was recognized as illegal in Russia. The battalion supports Ukraine and advocates the occupation of Crimea.
