In honor of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, March 19, 20, and 21 have been declared days off in Ingushetia. According to the head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Klimatov, this decision was made to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, which began on February 17.
«Memorial»: Abductees in the Chechen village of Alkhan Kala are being held in the SIZO
Twenty-five residents of the village of Alkhan Kala, Grozny district, who were taken from their homes in January by the security forces to an unknown location, are being held in the Grozny remand centre. This was reported by the Human Rights Center «Memorial».
According to human rights activists, among the abductees were the brothers Hamzat and Lechy Solsayev. Their father died suddenly of cardiovascular disease on 9 March.
All arrested persons are charged with organizing or participating in an illegal armed group (Criminal Code, art. 208). They face up to 20 years of imprisonment.
