Mikheil Saakashvili spoke out against the “calmification” of Georgia by the ruling party

Georgia's ruling party said the country needed to be calmed down. Calming the country is the new definition of dictatorship. Such calm reigns in the cemetery. This was stated by ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili at the next court hearing in Tbilisi.

“The robbers have seized the country and intend, as they say, to “calm down”, that is, to cut the throat of Georgia and each of its inhabitants, to block all roads to the future. We all must make our voice heard throughout the world, because the world looks at Georgia with admiration,” Saakashvili said.

Earlier, he called on the West to impose sanctions against the “pro-Russian oligarch” Bidzina Ivanishvili and his entourage from the ruling party. According to Saakashvili, the law on foreign agents adopted by the Georgian Dream brings Georgia closer to Russia and distances it from the West. The Kremlin will thus receive all possible benefits, and Georgia will be isolated and remain “in the power of Russia.”

Mikheil Saakashvili is under observation at the Vivamedi clinic. He returned to Georgia from Ukraine at the end of September 2021 and was arrested, having been sentenced in absentia to imprisonment in two criminal cases. After his arrest, the politician went on hunger strike three times.
