In the coming days the Georgian authorities will meet with the European ambassadors to discuss the situation around Saakashvili. This was stated by Archil Talakvadze, Deputy Speaker of Parliament. "Unfortunately, I do not remember any demarche during Saakashvili’s presidency, when prisoners were actually tortured, when they died due to inhuman treatment," he said.
On the eve the Minister of Justice of Georgia received an official demarche from the European Union in connection with the state of health of the ex-president. He has lost a lot of weight and suffers from a number of diseases, doctors noted.
