A case has been opened against the co-author of the law on "foreign agents" for violating it
The Gunibsky District Court of Dagestan has registered an administrative case regarding the absence of a "foreign agent" marking against former State Duma deputy Magomed Gadzhiev. He had previously supported pro-government initiatives, including the adoption of the law on "foreign agents".

Magomed Gadzhiev, who had previously been put on the wanted list by the Russian Interior Ministry, was accused of ordering the murder of Maksud Sadikov, rector of the Makhachkala Institute of Theology and International Relations, in 2011. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

In May last year, the Ministry of Justice added Gadzhiev to the register of "foreign agents". According to a message on the department's website, while outside of Russia, he expressed his willingness to cooperate with foreign sources in order to obtain foreign citizenship, and also declared his support for the Ukrainian authorities.
