The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
In the Republic of Dagestan, an attack by Ukrainian drones shot down over Kaspiysk has been thwarted. This was announced by Sergey Melikov, the head of the republic, on his Telegram channel.
"Emergency services are working on the scene, and all authorities are acting as task forces. Everything necessary is being done to ensure the safety of citizens and facilities," the regional leader reported.
He also urged residents of Dagestan to take precautions and avoid open streets whenever possible.
Earlier, a powerful explosion of unknown cause was reported in Kaspiysk. At least 15 cars in a parking lot were damaged, and windows in a house were shattered.
RIA Novosti, citing representatives of the Ministry of Health, reports that a 12-year-old girl was injured in a drone attack in Kaspiysk. The department reported that the child suffered a minor, non-penetrating chest wound, but the injury is not life-threatening. The girl is being treated at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital.
