Oleg Orlov was able to talk with a lawyer for the first time

For the first time after the sentencing, the lawyer was able to meet and talk alone in a Moscow pre-trial detention center with the co-chairman of the Memorial Human Rights Center Oleg Orlov.

“The political prisoner feels much better. He was able to rest, go to the shower, which he could not get into due to daily trips to court - prisoners are taken to the shower once a week. The cold has practically disappeared, his hearing has not yet fully recovered, Orlov continues treatment,” Memorial noted.

Let us remember that for almost a month, the lawyer and client could not talk in private due to Orlov’s daily trips to court to familiarize himself with the case materials and protocols before the appeal. He caught a bad cold and his hearing began to deteriorate.
On April 10, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow will consider Oleg Orlov’s complaint about his inclusion in the register of foreign agents. He will join the meeting via video link. The prisoner was recognized as a foreign agent on February 2, on the eve of the next trial in a criminal case for “repeated discrediting” of the army.

Let us recall that on February 27, the Golovinsky Court of Moscow sentenced Oleg Orlov to 2.5 years in prison under the article on “repeated discrediting” of the army. The human rights activist was tried for an anti-war article in which he called the Putin regime fascist.
