Oleg Orlov was placed in a special unit of the pre-trial detention center

Political prisoner, co-chairman of the Memorial Human Rights Center Oleg Orlov, after being transported from Moscow, was placed in a special unit of pre-trial detention center-2 in Syzran. There is a double camera there and there is constant video surveillance. This was reported by the Memorial Human Rights Protection Center.

According to Memorial, the transfer took place under almost “torturous” conditions. People were transported in packed cells of special wagons. Due to the overcrowding, prisoners were forced to take turns sleeping. During long stays it was forbidden to use the toilet.

Oleg Orlov was recognized as a foreign agent on February 2, and on February 27 he was sentenced to a real term of imprisonment.

Previously, he complained about the lack of medical care in the pre-trial detention center. From the moment the verdict was pronounced, at the request of the judge, he was taken every day to the Golovinsky Court in Moscow to familiarize himself with the case materials and was brought back only at night. Most often, he spent the entire day in the convoy room, deprived of rest, hot food and full communication with his lawyer.

Let us recall that on February 27, the Golovinsky Court of Moscow sentenced Oleg Orlov to 2.5 years in prison under the article on “repeated discrediting” of the army. The human rights activist was tried for an anti-war article in which he called the Putin regime fascist.
