Pashinyan Calls 2025 the Country's First Year Without Military Losses

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared 2025 the first year in the country's history of independence to pass without combat losses. He stated that there were no fatalities from firefights on either side of the conflict with Azerbaijan.

Pashinyan also noted that a peace agreement with Azerbaijan had been preliminarily signed, and the regulations for joint activities had been approved and ratified by demarcation commissions, giving the document legal force.
Criticizing the opposition, the Armenian leader dismissed claims of peace in previous years as false.

"The three-headed war party, represented by the opposition, claims that there was peace previously. This is a cynical lie, because in previous years we had many casualties and even more wounded," Pashinyan stated.

He added that previous years were characterized by "delaying the war, for which Armenia paid with its independence, statehood, economic development, and prosperity."

Yesterday, the ruling Civil Contract party completed its internal two-stage vote, which resulted in Nikol Pashinyan once again topping the electoral list and being nominated for the post of prime minister.
