Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that a significant portion of the current opposition in the country is aligned with foreign interests. Many of its representatives, according to the head of government, effectively act as foreign emissaries.
"People come to their homeland and position themselves as representatives of foreign interests, while simultaneously praising their dignity. We must understand that the state is the most important thing we have. Today, we are focused on strengthening our state," he emphasized.
Furthermore, the prime minister criticized Armenia's current declaration of independence, claiming it is contentious. According to him, the document itself initially formulates contradictions with other parties, which, in his view, is inconsistent with the idea of full independence.
"I've repeated this many times. Our declaration of independence isn't really a declaration of independence at all. It's a declaration of conflict, because if you declare a state while saying, 'I have this problem with you, I have this problem with you, and I have this problem with you,' then that's not independence. Because what do you do under such circumstances? You go and look for a major sponsor. They say such a peace is unworthy, unfair. But was the thirty-year vassal state of Armenia worthy?" the prime minister asked rhetorically.
